Internship

 As I was looking for an opportunity to work in an IT company that deals with social problems by developing data-driven solutions, Voinosis gave me an internship opportunity to participate in a project developing healthcare solutions for senior citizens. I helped researchers who were delineating the status quo of the elderly population in Korea. After closely looking at the process of the data scientists collecting, refining, analyzing data, and ultimately utilizing it to develop a productive solution for society, I felt this information science (data science) is meaningful and intriguing.

 

Also, it was the first time that I actually worked in the company. Even though I was an intern in that company, I could feel and experience office life, which was a very valuable experience. Mainly, I learned many fun and informative facts during lunch. For example, when I was eating lunch with co-workers, they advised me on how to deal with abusive bosses. On the other hand, by talking with co-workers who have a wide range of knowledge in this field, I got to know many helpful information about data science. Therefore, the internship opportunity in Voinosis was very meaningful in many ways, equipping me with adjuvant knowledge about data science and office life.

I also interned at NeuralWorksLab, a venture that aims at aiding individuals and groups with AI knowledge and education programs. For instance, I assisted NeuralWorksLab staff with AI Education Camp preparation. The camp was the first AI camp taught at Seoul National University for high school students. It was meaningful that I served the camp, not as a participant but as a program assistant.
